ASKA Unveil "Soul Stealer" Music Video; Knight Strike Album Due In April

"...The long running, high energy Texas outfit, Aska, is poised to make another splash.

For the last couple of years, vocalist George Call (Banshee, ex-Omen) and drummer Danny White were moonlighting in NWOBHM veterans, Cloven Hoof. It's been over a decade since the Fire Eater album and once again, they've reunited with bassist Keith Knight, to issue some catchy, hard driving heavy metal.

"Soul Stealer" is the first taste of their Knight Strike album, scheduled for release on April 13 via Vanadium. Watch the video below, and pre-order the album here...."

BraveWords Records Announces The Signing Of ASKA For Digital Release Of Knight Strike Album

George Call, Lead Vocals & Guitar in Aska, talks about signing with BraveWords Records:
In Aska we’ve long embraced the spirit of the underground and taken a very hands on approach to writing, recording and releasing our music. Like over-protective fathers with their young children, we’ve always been quite picky about whose hands we let our creations fall into. We vet the would-be surrogate caregivers; learn about them, look them over, get to know them and then gently pass our handiwork over to they, who in this case, are in a great position to help us get it to metal audiences around the world. This is why today, the band and I are pleased to announce that we have signed a deal with BraveWords Records that will help garner more exposure and attention for our latest, Knight Strike record. We know we have a world class record on our hands and undoubtedly, we feel that we’d like more people to discover it. This is why a partnership with BraveWords Records at this juncture makes a lot of sense to us. We look forward to a bright future in partnership with the label and deeply thank all of you that have stood by us so faithfully for so long.

Giles Lavery BraveWords Records A&R on signing Aska:
Aska has for several decades now been releasing albums that can stand proudly next to some of the finest music heavy metal has to offer. I encourage any fan of this genre who hasn’t already to go ahead and discover for themselves records such as Avenger, Absolute Power or Fire Eater. Aska has now done it again with their latest album Knight Strike. We here at BraveWords Records are excited to bring Aska and this fine album to the label’s roster.

ASKA Release Lyric Video For “From Out Of The Sky”, A Song About One Of Their Favorite Topics, Extraterrestrial Alien Invasion

"George Call...
We love Science Fiction as much as we love writing about medieval fantasy and such. On our previous album, Fire Eater, we had a brief soundscape called ‘The Last Message’. It was a final message left on a beacon in space from a now extinct civilization where our world had once been. This message had been playing in space for practically an eternity before our listeners stumble upon it and hear the tale of humanity’s demise. ‘FOotS’ kind of picks up, extrapolates and delves deeper. I think we see it as a kind of sequel of sorts. Questions are asked; Are they friend or foe? Will you run or will you stand and fight?

“As ‘TLM’ was put together by Aska bassist, Keith Knight, and he was the principal songwriter on ‘FOotS’, we felt it appropriate that he should take the lead vocals on this one. I thought it would be a great surprise for our fans as it’s the first time Keith has sang lead vocal on an Aska song since our third album, Nine Tongues.”..."
