Astrosoniq - Son of A.P. Lady
By Mark Bridgeman

Put on your groove shoes, 'cos Astrosoniq are gonna rock your arse off.

Hailing from The Netherlands, Astrosoniw blend fuzz-driven guitar, movie samples, vocals that strut, and a funk-driven rhythm that can only be described as 'dynamic doom'. Imagine Sabbath on a happy day, or the offspring of Faith No More & Kyuss; throw in some Machine Head-era Deep Purple, and you're cookin.

The movie/voice samples are a little offputting (although they are only lead-ins or -outs for the songs themselves), but the music more than makes up for it.

Astrosoniq are for those who like their music to leap, who like songs that shoot from the hip with a 70s feel, with the tube amp at the ready. This is heavy rock blended with Sly-like funk - if you read Mojo, and wish you'd lived when stomping fuzz rock was The Thing, pick this up. You won't regret it.
