Atheist - Unquestinable Presence

This has to be one of the best metal albums to be ever released. Who here argees with me?

I've never heard it! I tried to buy it recently but jimbobhickville beat me to the punch! I'm not so sure about the whole jazz-metal thing anyway. I never really listen to my Cynic - Focus or Pestillence - Spheres CDs, if they're anything to go by.

Atheist were awesome ... and I hate Cynic.

The thing Atheist had going to them that they were actually a Death Metal band, first and foremost that wrote some damn catchy tunes.

Cynic is a totally different league ... more musical masturbation than good metal

Get the first 2 Atheist releases ... you won't regret it.

I beat you to "Elements", which is generally considered to be their weakest, but I like it better than "Unquestionable Presence". "Piece of Time" is probably the best, though.

And I friggin love Cynic. I need to check out Pestilence; maybe I'll pick up that double CD reissue that came out last year.

They all rule. Piece of Time is prob my fav as well. They are TOTALLY different from Cynic. I'm on the fence with Cynic but Atheist are one of a kind. NOBODY can pull of the jazzy death metal that they produced. Like already stated, they are a death metal band first and foremost. EXCELLENT stuff.
