Am I the only one that has something break on them like once a month? jesus christ.

Here's the scoop:
Went to track drums today, was setting up cymbal sounds and I had to re-route a cable... plugged it in but I slipped and accidentally unplugged the audiofire12. Plugged it back in, and it starts up alright and the inputs work normally but the computer won't recognize it and the outputs don't function. There was a slight burning smell after I unplugged it.

Any ideas?

just took it apart... part of the circuit board is fried, literally. :waah:

we've had the thing for years so warranty is out of the question, I guess I just have to cut my losses and buy something new?

Wow, that fucking sucks dude, and to think I was considering nabbing one of those! When you say accidentally the whole Audiofire though ( :heh: ), do you mean you unplugged the firewire or the power cable?

Wow - I've had really really good experiences with Echo Audio stuff for many years. Must just be a fluke?

I know you're out of warranty but they are good guys - I think its worth giving them a call anyway. If still no joy, PM me as I know a few folks over there.

Both. I am an idiot, I was plugging in an XLR to my mixer and I like stepped on something and fell over(hahah) and knocked both cables out of the audiofire. I still recommend getting one, we've had the thing for years now and it's been awesome the entire time, just don't unplug it while it's on I guess haha.

Yeah I have nothing bad to say about them, the thing has been great until this and it really was my fault. Thanks for the help man I'll definitely hit you up! I appreciate it.
