curious what users think. this was born out of dss3 fs thread in the OT section but felt this is more appropriate area to talk about it.


do any studio guys use it like james or oz that can comment on the advantages to guitar/bass tone.

i imagine it should make bass cabs sound better as well with the added separation from the floor which tightens the bass and less bass gets transfered to floor...

I have the great gramma and its pretty much as advertised. Some low end or woofiness will be taken away and your ears will perceive the sound as tight and punchy. It was great for a while with the 4x12 guitar cab but when it came down to miking, it became a boon. The mics picked up less speaker movement resulting in lesser punch/chug for rhythm sounds.

If playing volume is not a constraint, I suppose using the gramma and cranking up the amp might yield good results. I reckon it would be useful for working musicians that need better control and balance working on smaller stage sets.

Would only recommend it if you're staying in apartments with wooden floors and you wanting to be nice to the neighbors.
