Avantasia Lost in Space Video

The song has grown on me, but it's lacking in the power department.

I don't get the Press package though, and Tobias implying he released this single because he wanted to be unpredictable.

Did this really surprise anyone? He keeps releasing softer and more mainstream type songs for singles (King of Fools, then Superheroes).

I hope the production sounds better on the album too (and just due to the video compression). This has the typical Sasha sound (very soft guitars). Plus, Tobias's voice sounds worse than some of his earlier albums (Mandrake, etc). I don't know if it's the microphone he uses now, the filters on it, or just his voice. I miss more his Mandrake type voice and not the way its been progressing since Hellfire Club...

Did anyone really think the new stuff would sound like the first two? I think Lost In Space is awful, but the clip I heard of Promised Land was very good, even though it was pretty different.

We're watching our guy taking steps to becoming a rock star. Guys who can write great song after great song will generally go that direction and so Tobias goes. Good luck to him and I personally love the new song for a first single.

I think the song is awesome, would i want a whole album like this song, probably not, but then again i do Like Tobias. If you listen to the first two Avantasia albums there is also a song on them that is in this manner of sound so don't be surprised if the rest is typical Tobias.

I shamelessly love this song. Like Pyramaze51 I wouldn't want an album of this song 15 times but 3 or 4 like this, mixed with other songs of varying type, would go over great. I love all the samples & clips I've heard of the upcoming Avantasia's and will be all over these releases when they arrive.

I don't find the song to be particularly powerful. My hope is that the infusion of the other vocalists may make the rest of the album stronger, but if this "single" is indicative of how the rest of the album will be, I think I will only find disappointment :\ .

Lost in Space has grown on me a lot. I love the chorus, I love the concept, and I love the video. The last minute of that video is worth it alone.

I predict these will be the rockers on the album:
"Ride the Sky"
"Scary Eyes"
"Promised Land"
"Lay All Your Love On Me"
"Another Angel Down"

How do I guess? Take a listen for yourself: on Amazon, duh!

Lost in Space has grown on me a lot.

It's growing on me too, but I really feel like the song could have used a pre-chorus. The transition from the verse to the chorus lacks fluidity and sounds weak to me. Maybe I've been spoiled by more technical drummers, but those two cymbal hits between the verse and chorus just aren't doing it for me.

I'm a HUGE Edguy fan and I admit, the tune left me a bit going 'uh.... huh... It wasn't horrible but...'

I dunno, I'm still on the fence about the tune, the video... Maybe it will grow on me but I'm not exactly rushing to view/ hear it again either...

Here's to the songs on this endeavor being just a wee bit stronger... Plus I cannot WAIT to hear the tune Khan's on...

Its underwhelming...and Tobias looks strangely like Christopher Lambert. I don't think the Paeth/Edguy or Paeth/Sammett relationships are very good ones. I liked Edguy and Avantasia better when they produced their own stuff. I hope the album is alot better than this video leads one to believe. Its moderately catchy, but uninspired...and yes, Sammett's voice is a bit off on this as well. Sounds like he couldn't care less about singing it.

I think Tobias has been hanging aroung Kiske way too much. He is starting to catch whatever kiske has.

Wow, I saw the video and at first I started looking online to see who was that guy that was singing! I didnt recognize Tobias at all. Couldn't recognize his voice either, what happened to the Dickinson/Kiske worship? I havent heard the last 2 Edguy albums so maybe he has been changing little by little??

I liked the song, it has this Bryan Adams/Bon Jovi thing going on that older folk usually like, maybe he is going for the Top 40, Easy Listening crowd(just kidding). The video was great though. Hopefully the album has a lot of variety, I dont mind soft stuff(the first Part of Ayreon - Universal Migrator owns my ass), so maybe this is a good thing, i think the whole Power Metal Opera album thing has been overdone anyway.. Looking forward to checking out this album, hopefully it has some Ayreon-style weirdness on it.
