I call AMG a second rate version of shit.

Really? I've found a lot of their older metal reviews (up until the late 90s) to be pretty reliable. As long as you realize they put an emphasis on different as opposed to just high quality, I find their ratings quite helpful. You probably don't like them because they don't like traditional black metal.
