AMON AMARTH Announce Title, Release Date Of Live DVD - Feb. 20, 2006

Sweden's AMON AMARTH have posted the following message on their official web site:

"It's been a tough job to piece everything together, but we're finally closing in on the release of our DVD entitled 'Wrath of the Norsemen'.

The release dates are:

Germany, Austria, Switzerland: April 21
Rest of Europe: April 24
USA and Canada: May 2

"The three-disc set will be released in a deluxe 10-page digipack with special gold-laminated slipcase — definitely something to look at!

"Main body of the content is the Cologne show from last year — filmed with 11 cameras. This was the longest show we've ever played (23 songs!). Bonus footage includes interviews, behind-the-scenes of the DVD recording and other stuff filmed around the Cologne show!

"Discs 2 and 3 feature professionally filmed shows from Summer Breeze 2005, the Metal Blade Rrroooaaarrr 2005 (a show with a really unusual setlist!), Wacken Open Air 2004 and the release show for 'Fate of Norns' in Ludwigsburg (Germany) in 2004!"

AMON AMARTH are tentatively scheduled to enter the studio in May to begin recording the follow-up to "Fate of Norns", which is available on Metal Blade Records. The band have been confirmed for several European festivals — including Wacken Open Air — this summer.

WHAT CONCERT WAS THAT? "Burning Creation" LIVE??

This DVD is worth it for that disc alone! :kickass:

yeah, I think I'm going to have to get this.

It will probably be $40 or something, and I'll probably never watch the entire thing, but it's probably going to be the most intense "live DVD" package we'll ever see.

I can't actually think of any other DVD that's better than this. Sure, thre are bands I like mroe, but this DVD is frikkin' fabulous! I wish every band would release something like this. And by every band, I mean Deströyer 666 and Immortal. :)

Well the thing is that I bet Amon Amarth really translates well into a live setting, and there are five whole shows of it

It would just be fun to watch with some alcohol and stuff.

Even as someone completely neutral on the band, that's a fucking impressive dvd collection right there! Really puts things like Opeth's "Lamentations" into perspective.
