Awesome free plug ins, 1176 and La2a emulations!

ohhhh hell yeah! he just added the DBX 160 it looks :) I've been checking this dudes page like everyday waiting for him to add more. I think he's added a new plug almost every other day, haha.

they look awesome, yes.. but he's been getting some flak for supposedly copy and pasting UAD's GUI for the LA2A and I believe even the 1176. dunno, I like how awesome they look, haha.

As for the sound, the attack/release is a bit different than the UAD version, same with the 1176, but they do sound good in their own right. They 'warm' anything you put 'em through, almost seems like a low-pass filter or something. The LA2A has alot of character and sounded good on the vox I put it on..

Now, the DBX160 I wasn't expecting! I was psyched when I saw it. I played with it a bit on snare and it was decent. Controls are kind of funky on it though, was able to get a nice pop out of it though...

Can't beat 'em for the price, but I'd def. try to download them before UA jumps on him, haha.

Just tried them, and the La2a is cool on both the mixbuss as bass!
I Like!

And yeah it does like the UAD Gui! haha

The 1176 is a bit hard to dail in Imo.. can't realy get a grip on it or something, also because i can't realy see the numbers and stuff, i'm on off those geeks who wants to see numbers on everything i bet:lol:

I'm not sold on it. They seem to filter the high frequencies way too much and the controls seems a bit akward. It's more on the Lo-fi side afaic.

hmmmmmmmm
cant say im the hugest fan
dont like the way the attack and release work on the 1176 alike.
doesnt react or sound anything like a real one
they all clip really easily too, hard to push em

I actually have inserted these plugs at essentially zero settings to get the character then run it though my kjärhus plugs for actual compression.

i do LOVE the new pheonix one though :D
