Ayreon is nothing like Pain of Salvation, because Ayreon is boring and this CD was a waste of money.
I've never listened to Human Equation.
I only like/ know the early works of Ayreon (Into the electric castle and Final Experiment are the best he ever made) and latest i know off, is the Universal Migrator. Part II kicks way more ass than part I but that's a matter of personal taste. Sorry, can't help you with your question only by telling you that the prices here, are not that very expensive.
