That's about right. RATM's debut and Evil Empire albums were rap rock that was more age appropriate for my Gen-X ass. And yes, 311 is also from Omaha, NE.

I was on the Evil Empire cusp. I thought "No Shelter" was a badass song in 6th grade but it was almost too heavy for me then.

I guess. It seems after my generation (those born between 1970 and 1979) they stopped coming up with catchy names for generations, which is probably good, though, because that effectively eliminates the ability to target a specific generation critically. I get tired of hearing people cry about how "apathetic and aloof" my generation is, and I'm sure baby boomers are tired of being blamed for completely destroying our planet and civilization (though they kinda did).
