First 3 Vital Remains albums are good.

Vital Remains was pretty fucking boring pre-Suzuki. Their pure death metal parts are fairly generic; good, but only when woven together with the awesome guitar parts. Into Cold Darkness is a fairly good example; solid death metal with some black metal atmosphere, but really pretty uninteresting overall.
