For whatever reason... the cold puts me in the mood for this.

You guys alredy have the idea im sure...

My Dying Bride's early albums... (I've been playing the hell out of Turn Loose the Swans lately)
The 11th Hour - Burden of Grief
Opeth
some Novembers Doom

Stuff like that would be great.

Swallow the Sun
Daylight Dies
Orphaned Land
Lethian Dreams
Black Sun Aeon
Soulfallen
Void of Silence
Additionally many of those male-female combo bands like After Forever, Epica, older Tristania and Theater of Tragedy all do this pretty well too

If you're looking outside of Doom
newer Anaal Nathrakh
Scar Symmetry
Into Eternity
Primordial
Adagio
Symbyosis
Kalisia
Augury
Mercenary
Miseration(first album)
The Faceless (Planetary Duality album)

Checking out Draconian, Orphaned Land, and Penumbra tonight...

If you're looking outside of Doom
newer Anaal Nathrakh
Scar Symmetry
Into Eternity
Primordial
Adagio
Symbyosis
Kalisia
Augury
Mercenary
Miseration(first album)
The Faceless (Planetary Duality album)

Some of these are pretty bad and make me want to not try the rest.

Black Sun Aeon - Darkness Walks Beside Me
Isole - Bliss of Solitude
Rapture - Futile, Songs For The Withering
October Tide - Grey Dawn
Daylight Dies - Dismantling Devotion
Woods of Ypres - The Green Album

damn, your outside doom list is looking good. but im also in with Draconian. They got loads of amazing albums. I hate woman vocals, but in Draconian they are perfect fit.

Stuff like Draconian and Daylight Dies is what I'm looking for.

Mercenary, Miseration, The Faceless...Scar Symmetry... those are pretty bad.

First thing that comnes to mind is Agalloch, but I guess you know it...

Of more unknown bands perhaps:

Love History - try their first "Galileo, Figaro, Magnifico"
October Tide as some else mentioned...
On Thorns I Lay - but for god's sake only their "Orama" album
Sad Legend - Try their selftitled album
Sear Bliss - Start with their oldest albums. Perhaps "Phantoms"

So much to check out... I'll get to alot of this stuff...

early Anathema
Rapture - especially 'Songs for the Withering' and 'The Silent Stage'
Penumbra

Rapture was really good... Anathema is okay... but Penumbra's female voice is so bad I wish to smash her in the face with a hammer.

The Fall of Every Season - From Below (I'm looking to sell this so if you like it, send me a pm)
Morgion - Cloaked By Ages, Crowned In Earth
Silent Stream Of Godless Elegy
Keen Of The Crow

As always, you're quite the doom guru.

I'm pretty tight on cash at the moment... but if you're still interested in selling that TFoES album after Christmas, I'm sure we could work something out.

Btw, listening to that Morgion album (I believe this is the 3rd time you've recommended it to me since I started posting on these boards and had always put it off.) It's pretty much perfect.
