Bass drum samples

I was wondering if anybody had any tight trigger-like bass drum samples they could pass on. I'm working on a track for some friends and I'm going for a death metal vibe, so I'm looking around for some really tight samples.

Did you try taking some from actual records ? Like Pantera or Exodus ? I'm sure there are plenty of others easy to steal kick samples out there ;-)...

How exactly do you guys "steal" them, some program or plugin that seperates the percussion or what? Probably a stupid question, sorry.

Yep, kao, that's exactly what I did. I wanted a snare sample from 'Good friends and a bottle of pills' but the damned bassist does a slide over it. In any case, I formed the mix:

I need a way to tighten up the guitars and also I suck at mastering, or generally getting good volume out of my recordings.

Yep, kao, that's exactly what I did. I wanted a snare sample from 'Good friends and a bottle of pills' but the damned bassist does a slide over it. In any case, I formed the mix:

Haha, sorry about that. I kept re-doing the mix and master so I kept taking the file down and back up. Here's the current link:

The only thing is that getting a snare sample like that means thats its allready mixed and mastered into the recording... which could sound weird...

I'll grab the track when you finally settle on one and stop changing it.

hehe soon Hopkins. I'll see if Analog Kid wants to send me the bass track so I can mix that in. Then I'm gonna pull the guitars back a bit coz they're way too loose and undefined at the moment (BBE gone crazy). It's only like 400kb anyway... one riff for the production.

Shorten the release time on the compressor a bit, that might pull them tighter.

about 25 seconds in when vinnies does the snare hits rex doesnt play anything over it, thats where i got my sample from.
