Ellen Alaverdyan, the 13 year-old bass prodigy who rose to fame via her YouTube channel, Ellen Plays Bass, has teamed up with vocalist Dino Jelusick and drum legend Kenny Aronoff to form The Big Ol’ Nasty Getdown. They have released the song “Wrong Side Of The Law”, and the official video can be viewed below.

The band also features Ellen’s father, Hovak Alaverdyan, on guitar and keyboardist Murzo.

In June 2024, legendary bassist Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big, Winery Dogs, Talas) challenged Ellen to perform her 10 favourite metal and hard rock basslines. Check out the clip below featuring songs from Dream Theater, Symphony X, Muse, Black Sabbath, Billy Sheehan, Tool, Metallica and more.

Thanks for the post but this information is incorrect. We've been trying to reach BraveWord.com to have them edit their post. The Big Ol' Nasty Getdown has been around for almost 18 years. The project has roughly 250 musicians from nearly 200 bands in their rotating cast. Members of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Primus, Parliament Funkadelic, Earth Wind & Fire, Sly and the Family Stone, 311, War, Fishbone, Mudvayne, Korn, Suicidal Tendencies and 24-7 Spyz (to name a few) are part of the projects line-up. The projects producer John Heintz invited Ellen, Hovak, Kenny, Dino, and Murzo to be part of this collaboration and 'Wrong Side of the Law' is one of the songs the collective wrote. Please correct this info as soon as possible as it is misleading and can cause damage to Ellen's brand and ours by confusing the reader with incorrect info.
