Bass Tone Test

I have always find trouble when it comes to mixing bass, so lately I have been spending some time trying to improve in this area. Here's a mix I did tonight, feedback is highly appreciated!

What kick is that? and this sounds awesome ahah

Sounds like it could use a lot more grind and less low-mids, right now it sounds like this low-end rumbly synth. Also, mix the bass in respect to the other instruments, especially the guitars. Don't solo it!

The kick is the Ludwing kick that the Metal Machine expansion comes with!

It sounds sooooo weird to me. But I don't know why. It could be either because of the sound or because of the style of playing, don't know.
