yea i have seen that several times and done about everything i can think of. I have been recording for a while, but i can just never seem to get my bass tone to sound clear and strong like that. i would be interested to see what kind of settings you are using on pod to see if i can somewhat replicate a this sound
First of all, NEW STRINGS! thats really important. On Podfarm I am using the Rock Classic Bass amp with its cab. Then I Make a dual tone and Bypass the cab of one of them, then Recabinet + EQ + Compression.
