I was expecting somebody else to start a thread on this album. Listened to it about a week ago. I was really impressed. There was definitely a metal-ish edge to some of the songs, though others stuck cleaning in the 'rock opera' feel. I wasn't a fan of all songs (too tired to look up which ones they were), but a strong majority of the songs were good. THe ones I didn't like tended to be simple music, simple lyrics, yet still had Meatloaf's great voice.

One interesting thing with this album is hearing the different guitar solos. You can pretty much pick out May's solos without issue. And, imo, they were the best.

I think it's a very good album. I've only had it just over a week and I've spun it 5-6 times already. I just keep going back to it. There are some real metal-ish songs on it for sure (title track and Land of the Pig), and some of the longer epic songs remind me of Trans-Siberian Orchestra in parts. Typical Meatloaf ballads are sprinkled throughout, which I could do without. But overall it's a quality album IMO. Not top-10 of the year, but will get an honorable mention from me.

I personally thought it was a big let down. Only liked a couple of the songs. Maybe I had too high expectations for the album. But don't let me stop you from picking it up if your a fan of Meat Loaf. To each their own.

I like the title track "The Monster's Loose," and maybe another song or two. Over all it's a big let down after the awsomeness of BOOH II: BIH.

I got this the day it came and I am a big Meat Loaf fan. I like BOOH III but BOOHII was much better. Maybe because this new one has many different players and writers made a difference. The Nikki Sixx and John 5 song was good. Can't wait for the tour. MEAT RULES

I have loved Meat Loaf's music for many years. The vocals on all the previous albums are truly wonderful. As for this one I cannot say as I honestly had no clue it was being released. This is one that I must check out.
