I have a question that has been rattling around in my brain for ages, on and off. I own a bunch of BBC Radio One live and in-studio recordings, including discs by Saxon, UFO, MSG, Y&T (I seem to like bands with abbreviated names) and Pat Travers. One thing I noticed on several of these is some sort of faint, high-pitched horn noise between songs. Can anyone tell me what this is? I know it appears somewhere on the following tracks:
UFO: Shoot Shoot (from BBC Radio One live in concert- w/ tracks dated 1974 and 1980- sez this one's from '74, but sounds identical to a '75 version I have heard elsewhere)
Y&T: Hungry For Rock (from BBC Live In Concert- Reading Festival '82)
Dio: Stand Up ANd Shout (from "Rainbow In The Dark" 45 single- Japanese, I think: sez it is from Donnington in '83- lucky find!)
Another great forum timewaster! Thanks! :Spin:
