Amazing progressive death metal band. Here is a review from Metal Hammer:

"Bobbing amid the undulating shit-swamp of mediocre bands that have emerged from the well-stocked American metal scene, Becoming The Archetype gleam like a diamond. Eschewing the metalcore route in favour of progressive death metal that touches upon Opeth's grandiosity and the technicality of "Symbolic"-era Death while always maintaining a streak of originality, this band has a great future ahead of them. "The Physics Of Fire" takes a few giant steps forward from 2005's "Terminate Damnation", incorporating a host of new textures, not least huge swathes of dark melody that light up the likes of "Autopsy" and "The Monolith" like torches at the gates of Hell. If only more young bands had so many cool ideas and such enormous testicles."

Yeah these guys are great. They have the entire Termination Damnation album up on their site streaming audio. They sound like a mix of As I Lay Dying, Cryptopsy, and Protest the Hero. They have a mix of everything. Some parts sound like something Mastodon would right when in the same song they have a little progressive melody that sounds almost like Pelican while having the brutal vocals driving the whole thing on. Good shit.

They are kind of metalcore which I don't usually listen to, but I can't deny BTA. They are a great band, but I have yet to listen to this new album. Didn't even know they had a new one.
