I've just recorded This and want advice on how to improve this mix.

The song needs Bass though. I dont have one so i'll probably lend a Bass tomorrow and record it.

Snare sounds way loose during the intro. Kick needs to be humanized just a bit, its clinical.
For the guitars are you tuned a half-step down from them? There's a bit of...don't know what to call it, woofle, around the 2:00 mark on the palm mutes. Are you mic'ing straight on?

You're really close though. Sounds good.

Sounds like the compressor doesn't have time to reopen when blasting on the snare and kick, making the overload of uncontrolled bass obvious. Other than that, as you said, lack of bass guitar tone somewhere, seems to have a "void" in the middle of the mix. And kick is pumping the mix heavily.
