Behringer 1953 mic pre's !

I'm sorry behringer is not the way to go - you know the light behind the valve - it's there to warm the valve up and keep it warm!

For budget stuff and live its great but for recording I cant abide by them - sends shivers down my spine just thinking about it.

i really wanna grab some fmr stuff
and then wack it all in a nice case (good ol funk logic)

I'm sure the time will come when behringer will put there shit in wooden cases to make it look better. Although it will be MDF and painted grey.

Mine must be broken, because it sounds great. Much better than my TL Audio preamp which was at least 4 times the price. Don't consider it a tube unit though, as the tube is wired in parallell and fed with too low voltage to really do anything useful. It adds harmonics to the signal, not much else. Sounds good as an effect, but this IS a solid state unit.

I get the impression buying a good preamp is a bitch now as it doesnt seem like the products are totally reflected in their price unless it gets excessive.
