Anyone tried those with decent speakers ? A friends is selling one for a good price, and i need a new cab....If i buy it I´ll replace for now a pair of the original speakers with my V30 and G1275 ..

Or should i really build my Bogner cab 2x12 clone instead ?

You may be putting good speakers in it, but I doubt it's exactly the most well-constructed thing in the world, so I don't think it's worth spending more than $150 for (or the European equivalent, if that's where you hail from).

From what I;ve seen of them in person, I think they seem constructed well, but the material used I don't dig...It was MDF and heavy as a mutha. I just tracked a band that used one of these cabs (stock) and it sounded like complete ass. Felt pretty solid, though. It was a standard angled cab, not the angled cab with the jensen speaker that are tilted out on the top slant.

I have two of the Jensen ones and I really like them. I played them up against a Mesa cab and I have to say, I like both for different sounds. I have had mine for 6 years and plays tons of shows and all I have had to do is put new casters on them. I wouldn't ever get the lower level ones with Behringer speakers but I love my Jensen speaker cabs.

I have the Ultrastack BG412H. Unless you are planning to change the speakers, do not get this cab. It has the Bugera Shark speakers, 100W, 4 Ohm each. Not bad for the price, they are very loud and the bass is very solid, but they have somewhat harsh and irritating highs that are very hard to dial out and the mids are 'sandy' (or 'grainy' might be a better word for it). If you listen to Scar Symmetry, you can actually recognize this sound somewhere in there. :loco:

They are not like guitar speakers at all, more like PA speakers. Of course that would make sense as the cab is made to work with the V-Ampire 1200 head, which is a digital modelling head - I have that too and it sounds very good through the Behringer cab, but my tube amp does not get along with it.

I am changing the speakers to Eminence Governors very soon (I am still waiting for the replacement speakers to arrive in the mail). I will also try a mixture of Governors and Vintage 30s. I recently stumbled upon this quote about the Governors (I did not know that before I ordered them):
Eminence recommends The Governor-16 as an alternative replacement in the Behringer Ultrastack BG412S and Ultrastack BG412H speaker cabinets. (LINK)

The cab itself is very solid and I like the construction, it's 18mm MDF all around coupled with a cool powder coated grill in front. The Behringer logo is very easy to remove, so now my cab is completely black and without any sign that it is a Behringer. It actually looks gorgeous. If the speaker change has the intended effect it will be a sweet cab.

PS: It has the Marshall 1960 dimensions. . . if you intend to make a Mesa out of it. . . you can't. But I think I can turn it into a very good cab in its own right without too much money spent.

Does anyone want samples of the stock cab?

Well, i found someone to build me a cab with the Mesa dimensions, so i gave up on the Behringer cab. Good to know that it is at least good tho.
