Maybe wrong forum to ask, but i have no idea where to ask this else :D
Anyway, on juli the 20th im going to Bergen, Norway. Well, i think this is a great chance to see some more/better viking/norse mythology, maybe pagan stuff, since its Norway, and im from Holland, where there isnt anything at all about these things. But back to the point, does anyone know if theres something like a museum, or maybe even a temple or something like that in the Bergen area? I would reaaaly appreciate it if someone could help me :D

i went to bergen in 2003... and only spent a couple of days there... but there wasn't too much viking stuff there... at least not what i saw...
there's more in oslo... there's the viking ship museum and there is a open air folk museum...
most countries tend to move their "imporant" museums to their capital cities (for example washington or ottawa)... because more tourists tend to go to the capital cities...
take the time to head down to oslo... it's a 4hr train ride if you don't take the scenic route but the fancy "norway in a nutshell" is definitely worth the price and time... you go through all the fjords and mountains... really inspiring...

Best thing to do is to e-mail the embassy. They have shitloads of stuff on topics like this, and, in any case, will know how to get you in touch with the local tourist info board. They are the ones who have maps and stuff like that, generally for free. There are things relating to ON culture in Bergen, you just have to figure out who to ask. Youth hostels will have info regarding "destinations" and "sights of interest" and such, too, I imagine. If you are staying in a hotel, they will have that same info.

if you have the time, you could visit the museum in Oslo.. never been there, but i've heard it's great.. that's where they're keeping the gokstad-ship, as an example of what you can see there...

It's a really long way to Oslo, though... Not distance wise, but time wise, cuz it's a lot of mountains and stuff. It is a really nice museum, though. Rune stones and such are everywhere, so shouldn't be hard to find in situ if you know where to look.

Ive heared there was a viking museum in Bergen

I think there is one at the Bergen Maritime Museum, not sure if it is a replica or not. Address is Haakon Sheteligsplass 15, Bergen.

The Bergen Museum also has a Viking exhibit. Address is Haakon Sheteligs Plass

The
BRYGGEN MUSEUM, Address: 3 Dreggsalm, also sounds kind of cool. "A museum based on the findings of the archeological excavations of Bryggen between 1955-1972. Here you’ll find the foundations of the oldest buildings in Bergen, dating back to the 12th century. The museum has the world’s largest collection of rune stones."

I researched these places already because I will be in Bergen in August for the Hole in the Sky Fest.

i went to Norway for 8 months on exchage back in 2002, i'd say go further up north to get a real feel for the Viking home-land, if you will. To places such as Trondheim & if you can be fucked Tromso. Bergen seems to have a more 18th century type feel, well thats how i took it in anyway, everyone is differnt. But yes, definatl check out the viking ship museum, its quite amazing.

In Norway you must visit my small town of Jeska... We too have a museum, dedicated to the musk ox, which has almost been hunted to extinction. Our town is also famous for our musk ox burgers which is a Norwegian speciality of this region. also near are frozen tundra and snow laced forests...but correct clothing must be worn as it is a wild environment. Please for you also is our town nightlife, which is typical Norwegian. many of the loggers and trappers come into town at weekends and it makes for a lively atmosphere.....so please enjoy Norway but come also to our lovely small town of Jeska.
