Wondering what your favorite matchup with this old marshall head is? I feel like my Mesa oversized just doesnt fit well with it, and am looking for something that can seat the mids just right. Any thoughts?

you can try a scumback blackback H or M...if you can affort it...
I would also try the g12-65(et65 is the wgs version)...

My '82 jcm 800 2204 sounds great with my Marshall 425a. Greenback loaded 4x12 from the vintage modern series.

I think it suits the older marshalls pretty well.

I have a friend with marshall 1960bx, and a 1960 jcm900 with gt-75's, available to use, but Im worried that the greenbacks cant handle the monster volume without getting too distorted and farting out.

I've got a 1960bx (greenbacks), 1960a/b (t75s), and 1960 slash a/b (v30s) in the rental stock at my work, feel free to stop by and test em all out! Also a Mesa Traditional

My cab gets used alot at gigs with bands using all sorts of heads since I also put on gigs and it gets used as backline. Seen guys with Dual Rectifiers and Bugera 6260's use it at loud gig volume with no volume/farting issues and those heads push out alot more watts than 100watter Marshalls
