I only find that rewarding when I don't really like the bands that are playing. It makes the music more tolerable. This was particularly effective when I went to see Necrophagist (a band I absolutely hate (I only went because there was nothing else to do)).

I get buzzed at shows. I can't stand people who are liquored up in their own euphoric world and can barley stand staying in one spot being loud and annoying. I do not want to be an asshole and hope someone shoves them because they would go down hard. I've been stuck in seats next to people like this and you're trying to enjoy a band and all of the sudden you're their best friend and can tell people and you wish they were kicked right the fuck out. I hate people who have to give someone standing next to them a high five every 5 minutes having no idea how funny it is.
I'm always drunk at concerts, always in the pit, and it never gets any less awesome. Some of the best nights of my life have been doing just this. 
I've only very nearly gotten into a fight once, when I saw Sodom. Apparently "bumped into" some dudes overweight girlfriend (IN A MOSH PIT). Firstly, bitch should lose some weight. Secondly, gtfo out of the mosh pit if you don't want people "bumping" into you. :Smug:

One of if not their best songs. That's why I was so determined not to pass out lol. Luckily my determination paid off and I managed to stagger to the bar and down a pint of water which made the world of difference. Survived the rest of the set with no near blackouts.

Music festivals: best place to get drunk. Unfortunately I've never been to a metal festival, but I was at Bonnaroo a few years ago and barely remember any of it. Combo of pot and beer. One of the best weekends ever:

Being in the pit whilst drunk is a bad idea, you're likely to fall and get stepped on. I've never been drunk at a show, but while you don't smoke weed, being high at a show is amazing.
The last 3 shows I've gone to drunk, I ended up blowing out one of my kneecaps in the pit and having to hobble home.
But I couldn't stay out of the pit when the Melvins started playing Honey Bucket!

when im drunk, every crappy old underground thrash metal album seems to be a masterpiece... i wonder why
from the metal spectrum, technical death/slam/brutal metal is the the best to listen to while fucked up
however if im drunk or high rap is always a good choice too
