I second this. Instead, we get LaCheese.
OK, so James LaBrie is cheesy, but Ronnie J Dio isn't? Has hell frozen over?
How many rock or metal singers get asked to do operas?
How many have such strong voices that they regularly bust mics?
How many sing with James LaBrie's passion?
Not many.

I voted for James, but I really think that Mikael Akerfedlt from Opeth should be there.
He probably is the most talented metal singer, but most of the stupid power metal fans here think that anyone who growls sux0rz.

Russ without even a doubt. not that i have heard the vocals on most of the others, but still russell allen = yum!
Another vocalist who i think is brilliant!! is Tony Martin who was with Black Sabbath for 7 years. And before everyone tells me that Black Sabbath just isn't Black Sabbath without Ozzy..that may be so, but this guy Tony is fantastic in my opinion. Tyr, The Headless Cross, and Cross Purposes being the best albums.

I voted for James...

Yeah, James has a stong voice, is so strong that he almost always doesnt sing... he screams:erk:.

Passion? He might sing with passion, but for a singer a good tecnique is more important than passion. Besides his voice doesnt have the elegance of Roy Khan or the power and versatility of Russell Allen period.

I don't think technique is the most important, feeling always goes first. But James is so off key at times it's just horrible to hear. And he doesn't have any power in his voice so it just sinks pretty deep. He should practice some more before he attempts some of that hard stuff. Ops. :D

He sang good in Images and Words and the more aggresive Awake. But has any one ever heard him in the 1998 "Once in a LIVEtime"! Oh god! James (trying) to sing the high notes in Take the Time!!

Thank god he has inproved since that horible period in DT's carrea (FII)!
