Best online resource to learn about compression/EQ/other fundamentals?

Yes, this forum is a great help! But I want to learn more about the technicalities of EQ, compression, and other recording aspect fundamentals...And to be able to apply them effectively. I fool around with comp and EQ, but I want to be able to use them to their full potential.

Any good online tutorial sites that break it up into specific sections? Or books even.
