BFD3 available nowwwww!!

it's standard superior 2 mapping. i programmed this in FL studio which also confuses the midi notes. C1 in FL studio is like A# in S2...:/
it's pretty simple though no complicate articulations etc. maybe it will sound good just as it is :D

Not really sold on the tones. They're pretty realistic but a bit on the thiner side of things imo. Still interested to hear the engine performs with the Platinum Samples libraries or the DLX one.

@Drew, I could send you a couple of Brooks Wackerman midi files but I'm not too sure about the legality of it, even once they're rendered... If you own or have access to them I'd be curious to hear them through BFD3 though.

Screw it, missed my train into work, so gotta wait 20minutes... may as well do this:

This revolves around the DW Mardi Gras Sparkle kit, the Tama Brass snare, and Paiste cymbals. Not done anything special to the grooves, not edited the midi or anything. Just assembled a basic drum track.

Bit of parallel compression to give the drums a bit more snap, but it's not really engineered at all other than that.

Not gonna lie, it's not my on my top priority list right now but that's a lot better than what I remember from BFD2.

Sounds very good, snare and tom rolls are quite real!

Is this a Brooks W MIDI file or programmed?

I have 2 weeks left of a 4 month renovation, then I get my music room back

I just got this the other day. It's a little bit strange if you're used to BFD2 in the work flow department. BFD2 took quite a bit of time to figure out the little details in the program and they've switched the locations of some of this stuff around. All in all I'd say it's definitely a step up from BFD2 though. Some of the snares actually pound pretty fucking hard and unlike the kits in stock BFD2 there are actually drums that were processed on the way in. If you like the bone dry raw samples they have quite a few of those as well. The presets are actually usable this time around and the built in transient designer is one of the best that I've encountered. I haven't got into the cymbal swell and tom resonance modeling just yet but I'm pretty pumped about it. My initial first impressions are very good but like BFD2 (or any other remotely deep piece of software) it's going to take some time to really bring out the best in it.

Hey guys,

I created a quick Audio-Visual demo the other day. I took a metal project I was getting ready to start mixing for a band. Dropped BFD 3 in on the drums. Used nothing but the stock BFD 3 samples, Tweaked and dialed it in pretty good. Everything is pretty dry and nothing more than a couple eq's and compressors here and there on everything outside the drums. In the starting mix phase. I had the drums rendered to audio that I was going to use, but thought this would be fun. All of the mixing,eq, and compression for the drums is in BFD. Nothing in Pro Tools affecting them.

Ok that sounded very real, thanks for the clip.I need to save money now!!It seems they did a great job in the bfd3 engine.

Yeah dude, as I said on the FXP forum, great video!

still no demo...i guess it's so shitty that nobody would buy it if they had the chance to test it before the purchase...;)
