I heard a rumor that Blind Guardian was doing the main song for that Dungeon Siege movie *cringe* coming out tomorrow.

His next movie should just be 1hr and 30 minutes of Uwe Boll on screen copying Conan O'Brian's german disco bit.

Glad to see I'm not the only one cringing... I caught a commercial for this sometime this past weekend, and it took me a minute to place. Dungeon Siege? Who the hell thought to make a movie out of that??

It will suck, but I'll be seeing it anyway. I eat that shit up.

I own Dungeons and Dragons on DVD. The one with Jimmy Olsen as the main character.

I have a long standing bet with a friend to find me a GOOD movie based on a video game. I maintain that there has NEVER BEEN, and NEVER WILL BE a good movie based on a video game. I can recall (note, didn't see, but can recall there being) such gems as Wing Commander, Street Fighter, Mario Bros, Doom, Tomb Raider, etc etc etc.

People here and there may like some of these movies, but none of them are good.

Steve in Philly

P.S. - TRON was a great movie, but the video game was based on the movie, and not the other way around.

I couldn't find the soundtrack info anywhere, supposedly it's being distributed by Nuclear Blast. I'm just curious to hear this song Blind Guardian created specifically for this movie.

I saw the BG song, I forget the name but it's off their latest album...guys were saying the song was about a Stephen King book though.

Yeah I enjoyed Silent Hill. I also think the first Resident Evil was good. Second one was horrible.

I want to know what Nuclear Blast's obsession with Uwe Boll movies is. The guy is considered to be the worst filmmaker today. I can't think of anyone who likes the guy's films except for their kitsch value. And yet, this is the second time that I know of that Nuclear Blast has aligned themselves with his movies. Remember "Alone in the Dark?" When that came out, NB put out a special two disc "soundtrack" - basically a comp with the "Alone in the Dark" stamped on it like a brand name. I personally think that Boll has a genuine passion for what he is doing. But the fact remains that he is hated and/or laughed at by filmgoers by people who see a crap movie as just a crap movie. That might not be what metal wants to align itself with.

I dunno. That movie looks pretty fucking awesome, plus it has Jason Statham. I'd go gay for him in a second. Dude fucking owns in everything he's been in, even if the movie itself isn't so good (Crank, for example).

It doesn't matter who is in it, Uwe Boll being attached makes this one of the worst movies of 2008.

He gets the rights to second rate game series because he is one of the few self funding directors. In Germany, there is a tax shelter law that allows people to "donate" money to films. The entire investment is tax deductible and if it doesn't make any money, it's a tax write off. Boll's movies usually have around a -$20 million deficit.

I liked the first Mortal Kombat, though it was rather cheesy. :)

Resident Evil movies rock!

Mortal Kombat? I don't remember the second but I liked the first.

Tomb Raiders were good as well.

I still haven't seen Silent Hill. I will this week.
