BBC is reporting that an artist creating a 120ft (36.5m) mural depicting all four original members of Black Sabbath says the reaction so far has been “unreal”.
The street art is set to be completed in time for the heavy metal band’s sold-out concert at Villa Park in July, with artist Mr Murals hoping it will also honour the “creative spirit of Birmingham”.
Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward will be immortalized on Navigation Street near Grand Central Station.
“I can’t even process how many people have stopped,” the artist said. “I thought it was going to be busy but I didn’t think it would be this crazy.”
Mr Murals added that more than 100 people had stopped him to take photos and ask questions in just one day, with many sharing their memories of Black Sabbath gigs in years gone by.
“That’s why I love painting outdoors,” he added. “I think a lot of other artists love that as well. I’m probably exaggerating that I’m exhausted because of actually working, but I think it is more chatting. I’ve probably done more chatting the last five days than I have all year.”

Ozzy Osbourne Has to Train for His Aston Villa Show:
Ozzy Osbourne: I haven’t done any physical work for the last seven, six and a half, seven years.
Billy Morrison: And what are you getting ready to do?
Ozzy Osbourne: The Aston Villa Show.
Billy Morrison: Yeah. It’s a big deal.
Ozzy Osbourne: By hook or by crook, I’m gonna make it there.
Billy Morrison: You’re gonna be there.
Ozzy Osbourne: I’ve got this trainer guy who helps people get back to normal. It’s hard going, but he’s convinced that he can pull it off for me. I’m giving it everything I’ve got.
Billy Morrison: Are you waking up thinking about it, stressing about it?
Ozzy Osbourne: Sometimes, but what I do, if I start obsessing all the time, I’ll be insane by Friday, you know?
Billy Morrison: Right, right.
Ozzy Osbourne: So, I’m just taking it one day at a time and when I do it one day at a time. You know, when we were talking about this OCAD whatever.
Billy Morrison: ADHD. Yeah, yeah.
Ozzy Osbourne: I have that badly and I’ve done the show and doubted it before I got up and done the exercising.
Billy Morrison: Right, so you are making an effort not to do that for this.
Ozzy Osbourne: So, I try and put it up back on the, but all I can say is I’m giving 120%. If my God wants me to do the show, I’ll do it.
Billy Morrison: You’ll be there.
Ozzy Osbourne on Black Sabbath’s Influence on Rock & Roll:
Billy Morrison: How shall we put it? Celebration.
Ozzy Osbourne: Of mine and Black Sabbath’s career.
Billy Morrison: Yeah. It’s a celebration and I want to drive that word into the listener’s head because this, it’s about celebrating.
Ozzy Osbourne: Yeah. Well, I mean, it’s all the people that we’ve influenced over the years.
Billy Morrison: Right. How does it feel to have all of these great bands?
Ozzy Osbourne: When we did the Ozzfest, bands would come to it and go, “Oh man, Sabbath really was an influence.” I go, “I think you’re just saying that.” I’m very self-critical about people’s adoration.
Billy Morrison: Sure, but you’re also very intelligent and I think that you know the influence that you and Black Sabbath have had on rock.
Ozzy Osbourne: Yeah. But it’s, you don’t, I’m one of these guys that goes, “Oh yeah, I’ll accept that now.”
Billy Morrison: But it’s not sunk in.
Ozzy Osbourne: I’m not good at accepting. Jack said to me, “Well, you’ve done it now,” and I go, “No, I haven’t. I want to make more music.”
Billy Morrison: Right, but that’s a different thing, Ozzy, being able to appreciate the effect that Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne had on the rock world.
Ozzy Osbourne: I mean, when people come, I remember a guy doing a news story. He goes, “You know, you and your solo work and Sabbath were the soundtrack of my life,” and I go, “Really?” But then The Beatles-
Billy Morrison: I was just gonna say, you would say the same thing.
Ozzy Osbourne: When I met Paul McCartney, I nearly fucking dropped dead. And there was a kid, he said to me when I was explaining that, and he goes, “Do you know that’s what my experience of meeting you.”
