According to The Journal News, BLACK SABBATH bassist Geezer Butler has donated $1,000 toward the reward fund to find the suspect wanted in the recent killing of 25 cats in Yonkers, New York."It is so tragic that we have human beings among us that are capable of committing such a heinous and heartless crime," Butler said in a statement. "Surely there is someone out there that knows who has done this. Please do the right thing and come forward to get this coward off the streets."Butler's contribution, which was announced Tuesday by Shannon Laukhuf, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals' (SPCA) executive director, increases the reward to $25,000."The total amount of the reward money reflects the resolve of the SPCA and the community to find the perpetrators of one of the worst cases of animal cruelty Westchester has ever known," Laukhuf said. The cats were found hanging in bags on a tree late last month.Three of the cats were brought to a veterinary hospital for necropsies and the cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma to the head, according to the SPCA. It is believed that all of the cats suffered the same death.
