In an email to www.blackmetalweb.com Blasphemer of Mayhem clears up the misunderstandings surrounding his controversial side project Mezzerschmitt. Blasphemer has received many negative reactions towards his Mezzerschmitt project. German magazine Metal Hammer refused to review the "Weltherrschaft" album, “the people, and the press seem to think this is a nazistic record.” States Blasphemer in an interview with www.spot.no.

This is what Blasphemer e-mailed to blackmetalweb.com:
"I have noticed that there are several reactions concerning the "Weltherrschaft" mcd, claiming this is some kind of neo-nazi propaganda.
This is certainly NOT the case.

Mezzerschmitt is a concept about the old, megalomaniac and twisted Herr Schmitt`s craving for world domination. Whereas the first 4 songs (the mcd) is mainly about the destruction of a (our?) world, all in order to create his kingdom from the remains (next album). In this kingdom the humans are made motorized slaves, in order to feed/build the enginal world The Mezzerschmitt Empire.
These slaves are put in different categories based on their connections to what is the "Big Brother" in our society, the authorities of course.

This can also in a way be seen as a parallel, or nearby at least, to George Orwell`s 1984. Instead of 1984, I state 2005 in the booklet! And Orwells Oceania is close to Herr Schmitt`s Empire. The Mezzerschmitt Empire. It’s a frightening and horrible futuristic vision connected with some sci-fi fantasy.
This concept is a futuristic mirror in a way. Herr Schmitt represents the face on the screen, the "evil eye", and everything is under his command. Herr Schmitt is Big Brother personified.

May I remind you that the american version is entitled "World Reign Observance".

I have used challenging and provocative symbolism to emphasise the brutality, cruelty and hatred which lies in this project. And if the booklet is opened, one can see that the symbolism goes both directions!

The singing in german can be explained by its nature. Why hasent anybody done extreme metal (not Rammstein) with german vocals before. The language itself is so cold, machinal (Mezzerschmitt. Get it?) and in a way, dictative. Even christmas-carrols sounds brutal in German. Thats the excellent Black Metal language!!!

This mcd is very personal and is aimed at authorities because of my own personal troubles/battles here in Norway. It is also a therapeutical thing for me. Releasing my frustration which were a part of my life at that time.
This is an expression. Im pushing the boundaries.
For sure: NO nazi or whatever.
Its ANTI-POLITICAL!

Thank you.
B."
