There were a couple parts on the album where WoY was an inspiration on me, a little bit. But that was in terms of some of the song/melody structuring. As for Paul's vocals though, that's for him to say for sure. On the title track, I can't honestly say we really hadn't had any specific inspiration for that song, other than the weird warbly clean guitars in the bridge being my homage to "Into The Pandemonium" era Celtic Frost, haha.

this is a GREAT record
.easily their best since "Pale Haunt" (which says a lot since all of their albums are stellar).
ND is among the only bands with death vox that I can still tolerate. (MDB is one of the others Aaron always impresses. So glad Opeth ditched them .just wasn't working for them anymore.) But anyway, here, with ND, they're still perfectly used/appropriate. THAT is the sign of wise artists.

The song "Unrest" is about David, so yes. It's purpose was 100% to sound like Woods, at least in my vocal approach. Miss David everyday.
