Blind Guardian North American Tour starts in TWO WEEKS!!!!

Sometimes I feel quite dead to the world indeed! :)

I'll give you a call sometime soon (and by soon I mean within the next couple weeks). Life is hectic and it's hard to keep in touch with everyone all the time, as I'm sure you know.

I hope married life is wonderful, huahuahua!

Awesome. Thanks for the good wishes, it has been great for sure.

Huahua!

If anyone on here from FL is going, I just confirmed BG for a meet n greet for my VIP guests. Along with a rediculous all day/ night drink special. Only 8 more of those are left :)

I wish the Florida show was a regular show and not "Florida Power Fest". We get the most expensive ticket in the entire US tour for a festival that is pretty much Blind Guardian + 6 opening bands... not a fan of the format. Not saying that the bands are bad, but 6 is way too many.

Then next time you can book them to be sure they don't skip Florida, and try and rebuild the terrible scene down here.

 He did book them, but for the Brazilian tour.

HAHAHAHA well, thats fantastic.

But still.

I just hate it when people try and bring good music to their local scene only to have people complain about shit. Tons of people have, are, and will be putting lots of time money and effort into bringing something special to Florida as he will to brazil.

Just rubs me the wrong way.....sorry if I'm a little harsh.

Camden, I understand it bro. But you gotta remember that a *lot* of times, the promoters try to take advantage by putting together a show with a ton of local openers, book one good headliner (usually a touring band) and call it a festival. That is still okay, if not for the fact that 90% of these so-called festivals have mediocre and shitty bands. Not the case with Florida Powerfest, some of the bands on the roster are actually pretty good. I can totally understand why some people may feel frustrated at the idea - it's almost like the stereotype out there. Again, I think this particular billing is pretty good (and so is Pathfinder Metal Fest that Hoyt puts together and brings bands from other places too), but in all fairness, it has happened so much in the past that people get skeptical. Also, don't forget that shows don't EVER come to South Florida anymore (not anything good at least), so if folks down there are frustrated... well, I don't blame them. I think promoters should be able to take the good and bad criticism just like the bands have to, instead of using the whole "if you don't like it then do it better" attitude (not saying you have that either)...

AngraRules was joking, I haven't booked them for Brazil =P

But hey, I am happy with the show and I will attend it. But I am not a fan of the format, that's all. I don't think it's cool to call it a festival by extending the number of openers and to then justify a higher ticket. It's kinda gimmicky.

But I don't know what went on behind the scenes... If this didn't happen maybe there weren't going to be any shows in Florida. Who knows? :P

Last time around they played at the House of Blues... They had a decent crowd, no? It was a great show..

This is like almost every metal show in Chicago....any band on tour that plays here in a smaller club gets like 6 openers which in the end cuts off the headliners set time.

Well guardian has at least 2 hours of playtime and a special set at powerfest. I would also hardly compare most of the bands on the bill "local opener" quality. Die hard BG fans only care about BG anyways, but for people that are willing to appreciate the fact that there are not 6 random openers may actually give them a chance and be thoroughly impressed. Just because the band is not BG dosent mean they arnt a bad band by any means.

I mean seriously. 3 of the bands are from out of state, 2 from the other side of Florida and the other a local act and they go on first.

This is labeled as a festival and by golly will be one.
