Blind Guardian North American Tour starts in TWO WEEKS!!!!

AngraRules was joking, I haven't booked them for Brazil =P

But hey, I am happy with the show and I will attend it. But I am not a fan of the format, that's all. I don't think it's cool to call it a festival by extending the number of openers and to then justify a higher ticket. It's kinda gimmicky.

But I don't know what went on behind the scenes... If this didn't happen maybe there weren't going to be any shows in Florida. Who knows? :P

Last time around they played at the House of Blues... They had a decent crowd, no? It was a great show..

No worries man, honestly, the ticket price would be maybe only 3-5 dollars less if it were just them only. I no longer have two legs :p

But ya, have you checked out any of the bands? Theocracy always puts on an amazing show as halcyon way will. Great awakening are the next thing to come out of Florida that's for sure. Amazing live.

You will enjoy te whole thing I promise you that. And you will also get an un tampered un hindered BG experience to :)

Camden, I understand it bro. But you gotta remember that a *lot* of times, the promoters try to take advantage by putting together a show with a ton of local openers, book one good headliner (usually a touring band) and call it a festival. That is still okay, if not for the fact that 90% of these so-called festivals have mediocre and shitty bands. Not the case with Florida Powerfest, some of the bands on the roster are actually pretty good. I can totally understand why some people may feel frustrated at the idea - it's almost like the stereotype out there. Again, I think this particular billing is pretty good (and so is Pathfinder Metal Fest that Hoyt puts together and brings bands from other places too), but in all fairness, it has happened so much in the past that people get skeptical. Also, don't forget that shows don't EVER come to South Florida anymore (not anything good at least), so if folks down there are frustrated... well, I don't blame them. I think promoters should be able to take the good and bad criticism just like the bands have to, instead of using the whole "if you don't like it then do it better" attitude (not saying you have that either)...

Totally agree.

That's why I hope to make people see that I'm trying to change that (at least in this state) a little bit at a time. I would personally talk to everyone that has questions about the way it's ran to ensure that they know that I'm just a rouge promoter trying to scam tix from people (I can name a lot of those right off my head). Just trying to build something that Florida can call home for metal, much like what Glenn has done for the Atlanta scene. Granted my show is maybe big enough to be a prog power showcase day this year. I hope that through fan support we can grow this thing as Glenn has done year by year until we can get some really gnarly lineups going :)

I wish the Florida show was a regular show and not "Florida Power Fest". We get the most expensive ticket in the entire US tour for a festival that is pretty much Blind Guardian + 6 opening bands... not a fan of the format. Not saying that the bands are bad, but 6 is way too many.

No, not 6 opening bands. BG and a bunch of other GREAT metal acts.

I personally am thrilled that "our" show is what it is. Not sure I would pay 25 bucks for BG alone. But as the show is now.... A no brainer.
Kudos to Camden for putting this thing on.

I have to make a comment though; as much as I understand Angrafan's comment, I think he's a little jaded with the style and being a tad unfair. Seven Kingdoms, Halcyon Way and Theocracy aren't simple local openers... The bill is really strong, as much as the "openers" aren't established yet.
