Blue Cheer

For those who don't know, Blue Cheer was a band that came out of San Francisco around 1967 or '68 I believe. They sounded very heavy for their time, and they had a hit with their cover of "Summertime Blues". Although, "Summertime Blues" was their only hit, their albums have alot of good stuff on them. Has anybody else heard them?

Both Blue Cheer albums are excellent. I wouldn't exactly consider it proto-metal, but more psychedelic proto-prog along the lines of early Deep Purple. But better.

Yeah, I've heard Blue Cheer and the Summertime Blues album. It's very good, in 1968 this should've been a MONSTER.
