Boss PS-5

Alright, the thing is that I really love the sound on the beginning of the Boss PS-5 demovideo they have on youtube, otherwise I think the demomaterial on the pedaldemo sounds like shit. But one usable sound is more than enough for me. The video is below

But the thing is if I plan to hit the road with my material someday, it most likely will be a one guitarist band, but I was thinking to use that pedal for effect on some of the solos to get more of the "dual guitar harmony" thing (like I did on this one). But the thing I'm worried about is how well will it translate to a bit more overdriven guitartone than on the one in the video.

edit: I think I'll go and test it out today to the local guitar shop

Let us know what you think. Maybe if you turn down the harmonies a bit in comparison to the dry signal it might be pretty usable even on distorted sounds.

I've played around with one of these. I like it a lot. You have to run it after your distortion or you'll get a bit of a muddy sound (like if you played a chord on the guitar vs two guitars playing the melody).

I love my PS-5. I use it mostly on simple lead parts with the octave blended in maybe 20-25%. It gives leads a little extra "push" and adds a bit of drama.

I also love combining it with delays to make Cave In-style guitar tones.

Alright, I went out to the music shop today and tested it out with a fucking dreadful sounding amp (couldn't get it to distort even at volume at max) and a really overpriced SG that felt horrible, the finetuning was really off, really old and dirty strings AND cost like ~2500€ to the boot, so I felt really paralyzed with the guitar, but I got to test out the pedal. I tried out most of my pre-written guitarsolos I remembered and the pedal only worked on the clip I posted above, so I decided not to buy it. Sounded good, but just wasn't my thing. I did write a new lick when I was toying around with it tho.

I read somewhere someone state that the Behr clone actually works "properly" unlike the Boss original, don't take my word for it though. And if you were to take a Behr pedal on the road a rehouse is quite a smart idea...
