Boss GT-8 question

So my guitarist has a Boss GT-8 guitar effects processor. He creates a good guitar sound (panned) and assigns it to a pedal, and then he creates a good bass sound (centered), and assigns that to a different pedal. Is there a way to have both sounds play at the same time when he plays?

Don't think so, never could do that with mine. That would require 2 patches running simultaneously and I don't think you can do that..
