I have been kinda debating whether to buy this album or not, oft times "reunion" types of albums leave a bad taste in my mouth. Most times they are put together because rockers suddenly realize they are broke, and they got kids to put thru college or somthing ='.'=

Especially since I consider anything studio-done after 7Th Son to be lukewarm at best, and had gotten into Bruce's solo stuff, I had put off Brave New World for a long time. To my suprise, Im totally blown away by Brave New World! What a great recording, every track is good. Bruce's voice does not age!

Scuse me while I whip this out (my BNW disc). Sam, I agree with your assessment, and don't think Maiden got enough pub for this great recording. Includes a few classic Maiden "epic" type of songs which show Maiden truly back at full strength. My fav is #6 Dream of Mirrors, cuz the band and Bruce pull off some surprisingly killer tempo changes that just kinda sneak up on you. Was pleasantly surprised when they played this song in concert at Irvine Meadows on tour. Didn't think it would be one of the cuts that made the live show, by they played a great version of it.

As much as I love this album, Harris' "galloping" bass rhythm pattern gets a little repetitive on this disc. It's one thing to have a trademark, but almost EVERY SONG? :yuk: Kevin Shirley should have stepped in as producer of this disc and put a stop to that. I know Martin Birch would have.

I think it's faaaantastic. Blood Brothers, Dream of Mirrors, The Wicker Man, all instant classics.

Currently my favorite is The Fallen Angel, which I think should've been the second single instead of Out Of The Silent Planet.

Maiden were robbed on publicity for this one. They came back at full strength and radio gave them only the mildest of airplay.

Can't wait for the next album.
