Breakdown Idea

I rerecorded an old idea I had and I think the guitars came out pretty good. It's not supposed to be long, just a quick instrumental song to lead into another one.

Any feedback on the guitar tone is greatly appreciated.

i really hate how the cymbals sound, the guitar tone is nice, a little flubby IMO but that might be due to loose strings. What was used on this mix?

Yeah the drums are all around shit besides the snare/kick samples. I don't have a good plugin so I just use shortcircuit (a free sampler if you've never heard of it. It does the job I guess but it's nothing special). Guitars were Revalver MkII, TS secret, and EQ (https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7071005/Guitar EQ.jpg). Bass was just MIDI using 4front but I'll be recording that hopefully by the end of this week. Thanks for the feedback.

New version up, less bassy guitars and none of that really annoying lead part.

i would EQthe guitars differently, sounds like you sucked the life of the the mids completely. Also tame the boominess on guitars.

Hmm... I didn't really cut that much midrange. Is there anything I can do to fix that besides just bringing up the volume?

the guitars do sound a tad bit flubby.. if you tame that and add some grit to the bass, i think it might sound a little better..

I posted a new version with both of those things, although the bass is still MIDI so the bass still sounds like shit .
