for those with XM Satellite, please be sure to tune in to the Breaking Bone hour starting 15 minutes from this post - yeah, I'm late posting .

They will be playing some new Circle II Circle and hopefully mentioning the tour to some degree. They've been pretty cool about that. Cheers to the Boneyard! Tune In!!!

:kickass:

Thanks,

~Hoyt.

... still waiting for a XM or Sirius channel that is dedicated to power or power & prog metal.

If they ever do, I'll resubscribe. Otherwise it is the same crap I've been trying to avoid before I "converted" to being a power & prog metal listener. :)

However, Boneyard (XM 41) is the closest channel to my current listening habits.

Suprisingly enough, AOL Radio has a good Power Metal channel. I've listened in on occasion and liked it.

Not going to happen. Hell, a Prog Rock channel couldn't survive on XM by itself, and that's a much broader genre than power/prog metal.

Personally, I'm more or less happy with the station right now. Some of the power stuff is getting mixed into the regular rotation. Stuff like Blind Guardian, Helloween, Hammerfall and Manowar get some decent play. Between what gets in the rotation and the power/prog bone fragment and whatever gets played on the BBH makes it satisfactory for me.

Now, if I could only get them to play Jorn on the station...

What gets me is that they're getting ready to dedicate a WHOLE channel to Metallica starting this coming Saturday (I think XM 51). If they can dedicate a channel to one band (which I used to like at one time - not any more), they can have a power metal channel with some prog and melodic death metal for good measure as well. I really think power metal is the the "new" era of rock. The so-called "modern" or "alternative" rock is pretty much a dead genre gasping for air. Bring something fresh to the table. :)

My understanding is that the Metallica channel is a temporary thing to coincide with the upcoming release of Death Magnetic.

Sirius has done this in the past as well.

Was not aware this was a temporary channel. That's ok if it is only for a month or so - but I couldn't see them having a whole channel for a very long period of time.

Yeah, XM has been doing the "microchannel" thing lately. Led Zeppelin had a channel for a while. I think XM still has the "30 days of Coldplay" going on right now.

I forgot to remind folks to tune in tonight. It was cool - they played one of the Pyramaze songs from Immortal (I didn't catch the name), but then also talked about Urban Breed joining Pyramaze. Pretty cool.

They also played a track from a German power metal band called Stormwarrior. If you like that middle years ManOwaR sound mixed with a touch of earlier Helloween, then you may like these guys. Just plain ol' anthemic metal cheesy goodness. Nothing more, nothing less. Kinda like Hammerfall on much-needed steroids. :Saint:

I don't know where they've been hiding for ten years, but I'm glad XM41 found them!

hey all - be sure to tune in to the Breaking Bone hour that started just a few minutes ago. They are playing the new G'n'R -*snore*- to kick the show off, but later in the show they will have CIIC in the studio (recorded while they were in that area on their tour a couple of weeks ago).

What time does Breaking Bone hour occur on XM 41? I don't listen to XM enough (I usually listen to the iPod) so I don't know these things as well as others on here :)

9PM on Sunday.

Course, that's probably the worst time for me to listen to a show, since I'm usually busy putting my son to bed.
