Breaking the bad habit of eating out too much by cooking an awesome meal...

contemplating the implications of "alex nagle" and "a dash of paprika" is enough to send me back to reinterpreting the various quatrains of geezer Nostradmus...

when there's nothing (ready...done) to eat at home, i always search for some bananas (or other fruits) and it's ok for me.

I dabble in the culinary fine arts... in fact in high school, I took 3 cooking classes... so I'm like nearly a chef...

however, you guys ever been really hungry and you don't have enough of one thing to eat at your house... so you end eating really wacky combinations...

Here's some examples of some of my past experiences:

pretzels, peanut butter and orange juice... yum!
Beans, eggs, and cheese... extra yum... a family secret that was past down from the time of the Great Depression.
hotdogs with no roll, and since their wasn't mustard or ketchup... barbeque sauce had to substituted.... wow now that is good my friends...

A lot of times I find that my most creative juices are flowing right after a good night of hard drinking...

Anyone else like to share an experience?

Well, I grew up eating peanut butter and (crispy) bacon sandwiches, and I still eat 'em. Everybody thinks its supremely weird, but I've made about four roommates try them over the years and three of them said they were great and they would eat it again. The last guy shrugged and said, "Tastes like peanut butter", which was very perceptive. :p

oh man, I am so starving right now and my food budget is extra tight. I'm going to start eating myself soon if this keeps up.

Seitan sauteed with red peppers, spinach, onions, baby portabella mushrooms, garlic, soy sauce, and balsamic vinegar over spinach pasta. No pornographic detail here. All the smut's to be kept between me and my roommate.

Making your own seitan from scratch is so easy and good. It puzzles me why anyone would spend so much money buying it ready-made. And on that note, I need to make a batch myself for ye ol' freezer.
