Came out today. What you guys think?

Defiantly a step in the right direction IMO. However, the choir n shit remind a bit of Underoath (not a bad thing, dont get me wrong!)

Not that into the vocals really. Not dynamic enough for the rest of the music.

Now you've pointed it out, I notice it.

It doesnt seem to have enough presence. It doesn't really stand out against the rest of the track, like its kinda weak.

Non-the-less, I think its a great track and I'm excited for the album

Think the choir is a bit out of place. A bit of strings and piano is all good but I'm just not sure if the choir suits. Seems like they're trying a bit too hard maybe?

Liking the chorus alot.

Guitars are a bit loud, covering up the drums and vocals in some places.

And there's NO FUCKING NEED for that daft bit at 2:10 when the choir pops in for a split second. Just sounds annoying.

I was going to post this earlier complaining about how this basically sums up all the ways in which metal has been slowly killing itself over the last 10-15 years.

This track sounds like the band poured through thousands of cd's from hundreds of genres and stole a bunch of things that sounded nice to them and mashed them all into one song in some effort to "progress." All anything like that achieves is complete regression.
Sounds like modern mainstream metal finally hitting bottom to me, sorry guys.

Fair point Gareth. I can see what you mean and I agree to do a degree. I should have noticed earlier I guess, I even mentioned it sounding like Underoath FFS!

I still think its a step in the right direction for BMTH, I prefer it to Count Your Blessings and The Edge of You Seat. Have to hear the album to compare it to Suicide Season.

Although it sounds like a mash up of lots of different shit, I still think its a progression for them as they're going to fit in with every band that has done well and kids will love it.

I dig it, the happy synth is irritating though.

Guess they've been listening to 30 seconds to mars too much.

Yeah, but i dig it, some parts are ace.

I guess someone has to be the analytical pessimist about anything that isn't their favorite band. How can anyone even honestly say that this is the rock bottom for metal? And a choir and keys is completely regressing all of metal music? If you don't like it, that's fine... but why the dramatic spiel about this track being the end of the world.

It's a step in a different direction from BMTH. It wasn't unexpected. From the first album to the second album was a ridiculous change. I've liked what they've written and they are working with a great producer, so I'm eagerly awaiting this album. I'm sure it will put this track into much better perspective.

SO SORRY FOR HAVING A DIFFERING OPINION, CHUM. ^_^

So much electricity going on in this track. Nothing but effects and a lack of tastefulness.

man, really love that post! the only thing i have to add is :
no, the band did not pour through thousands of cd's, but through thousands 10,000 of mp3s on their iphone...

thats exactly why modern metal sounds that way. kids never listen
to one band for like 3 months (like i did back in the days) and
basically try to dive into and understand what this band has to say (musically and lyrically).

nowadays you have like 50 bands at the same time that you are "into", you only take the strong tracks out of the album context ("the easily accessible ones") and that forms your taste of music...

these bands take musical pieces (that they dont really understand) and
mash it up into something "new" - without any meaning, just sound after sound, part after part.

this music has zero emotion (for me). but this is all only my humble opinion,
if you like this band, please dont hate me ;-)

if this band really wants to progress, they should get rid of the screamer.

I think it was a bit too much electronic parts but still songwriting wise a step up. It got a nice hook to it, kind of like it after the second listening.

I enjoyed parts of their last album because of that crazy riffage they had going on, and the fact that i was attending those sessions of suicide season, so im gonna for sure buy this one and check it out, atleast for the production itself.
I dont understand why people like to bash on bands that much?? From my experience these lads where nice people in person and Lee is the best guitar player i have ever seen been recorded. Im off to Studio fredman this Wednesday to master a cd and hopefully Henke will give me a preview :D

I have nothing personally against any of the band members (although I hear Oli Sykes is, to put it bluntly, a massive cunt, but hey, I don't know the guy, what I've heard could be totally wrong.) I just think it's fucking bad music. I know lots of really nice dudes who make really bad music, it's nothing personal, y'know?

couldn't even make it through half the song, the vocals are just too repelling.
it's like he has no musical sense whatsoever, it's just random screaming.

ti me BMTH always sounds like they record the music and then they record the vox without that sykes dude having listened to the track even once..then they paste a random vocal recording over any of the songs

this song sucks. old bmth was shit deathcore imitating, the new is shitter popishcore imitating because deathcore is out of fashion or i dont know... lol
