Skunkworks is great, especially Solar Confinement.
Another awesome track is Son of a gun from Tattooed millionaire.

i love Skunkworks, i honestly don't see why a lot of people bash this album. sure it's different but it's a hell of a good album, especially Octavia and Strange Death in Paradise

It's a decent album, though I haven't listened to it in a long time. BTP is wildly uneven, it ranges from the ridiculous (Sacred Cowboys) to the sublime (Tears Of The Dragon, though the keyboard-heavy extended version is better IMO).

All I've heard from "Skunkworks" is "Back From the Edge" on the compilation.

eek! I don't own Skunkworks, nor have I ever heard it.

I liked Balls to Picasso! I even like "Change of Heart" - it's catchy! There are some great songs on the album overall.

Not only are BD albums uneven, but so is the acclaim. For example, as much as I like Accident of Birth, I don't think it's as good as everyone makes out. I've even seen people say it's better then Chemical Wedding.

So I never quite understood the hype around Accident of Birth, in that, some people were suggesting that it was better than Chemical Wedding. Well, I've been listening to it a bit more as of late, and I admit I like it more than I used to, but in no way does it even approach the greatness of CW.

Anyway, the first four tracks on AoB are the worst songs on the album, and so that's why I probably had a hard time listening to that release.

Sad that Skunkworks got bagged on like it did. I'm more partial to that disc than any of Dickinson's other solo stuff. Still need to get that remaster though.
