Bruce's opinion on playing classic material...

Well it makes sense. Let them play want to want to play, the show is about seeing the band, not necessarily one song.

Well, I for one, would not pay to see a show that was only from the latest album...

Its not a bad album at all, its just not an album thats worthy of an entire show dedicated to it.

They have plenty of other albums that would have been much better for the show, heh.

When I go to a show typically, I prefer to see material spanning through the bands career, even if the focus is on the new songs... Either way, I wouldn't have paid to seen this tour if it came anywhere around me. But, maybe i'm different from everyone.

I understand what you mean. I was dissappointed When I saw a band I shant name in 2002 and they didn't play anything from TJR. I didn't mean to say exclusively new album shows are a-ok, but rather if they mix a blend of old and new it's acceptable. Some folks want nothing BUT old.

Well, i will give them they play a few older songs after the album was done being played...

Essentially it was like their 5 greatest hits in the bootleg i listened to:

Fear of the Dark
Iron Maiden
2 Minutes to Midnight
The Evil That Men Do
Hallowed Be Thy Name

As for your 2002 show David, HA! I saw them play a set with plenty from TJR and Whoracle! :D

Hahahaha, that was the show I went to! I recognized the shirt too. I heard that they did that at a few shows, and I doubt he wore the same shirts at each show.

Maiden's supposed to be doing a Powerslave/Seventh Son-era tour in '07 or '08, which I'm completely excited for. (Last year they did the 'Early Years' tour, promoting the first 4 albums.) But I'd be disappointed, too, if when I saw them again they only played stuff from their latest album.

Artifacts of the Black Rain FTW!

they will make a second part of the History tour.they will probably play songs from Powerslave,Somewhere in Time,Seventh Son and No Payer albums.

From this ridiculously long interview on Blabbermouth:

The important part:

On MAIDEN's future plans:

"2008 will be the big — probably the biggest — IRON MAIDEN festival tour that ever has been, and it will be the 'Powerslave' set. Whether or not we play all the same songs — because it will be the songs from the next four albums — but the actual stage set we're gonna rebuild, maybe even a bit bigger."

that is soo awesome, I heard they were coming to Awwestraya early 2007, and i would definatly wanna see them if they were playing stuff from Powerslave/ Seventh Son.
