bruce's solo album guitar sound

hi guys, i love the guitar sound on accident of birth and chemical wedding. Any ideas how to get a similar tone? I had a search for roy z and stuff but came up with nothing.

I remember an interview done around the time of TCW's release where Bruce was talking about them stringing the guitars with bass strings to get the sound and depth for the tuning...he said there were problems with the low tuning and so much low end flying around, that the tape machine would occasionally spontaneously stop and start rewinding during takes...

He didn't go into detail about settings or anything, but that's one thing I remember from the release...
