Brutal Death / Goregrind Guitar Tone

Hey all, I'm recording a Brutal death / gore grind style band in the next month and was just wondering about the best way to record the guitar? I remember reading about the two mic technique awhile back but couldn't find the thread for it!

Also do you think its wise to double track the guitars? There are two guitarists.

And would a sans amp straight into a pre be decent enough or should be borrow a bass rig too ?

Sansamp with a distortion should do more then fine!

I think the guitarist has a shitty amp. I'm going to borrow a friends 5150 for it.
Another question, when recording two guitar parts, to make them stand out more, is it advisable to use two different amps or the same amp with different tone settings?
Also, to double track the guitars or not....

Just found out that they are a deathcore style band, not brutal death as I originally thought! Think, suicide silence, the acacia strain and carnifex.
