I used the Blue Ball on guitars for a album that I produced in conjunction with 57's and ended up ditching the Blue Ball tracks during the mix. Too dark for my taste.

Well I have never used them but rumor has it that they are not so "working horse" and more "specialized" if you catch my drift.
