Building up a general template

Mmm you're right X_X I guess I wasn't paying much attention to the crash cymbals (I always fixate on the pretty splashes :P LOL) but in contrast, to say the hats for example - they're lost quite a bit in comparison >_<

Sounding fairly decent though in everyone's opinion? Maybe I brightened up the guitars a bit too much, so I might take em down a slight notch

i agree w/ TwoGOneSee that, yes, the crashes could be a bit buried, but at the same time...it's up to you if you like em lower in the mix or not, seeing as the gits "are" a tad bright, might be good they're buried so there's not too much high end attacking the listener, ya know, all depends on your personal preference.

i say, bring the brightness of the gits down a "touch" like u wanted, and see if the crashes pop out more on their own w/out doin anything to'em. kinda like Red Chord's Clients...the cymbals are prrrrrrty buried and all "swish," but it works cause they have a very dark and kinda soothing tone. just my 2 cents....but so far great job for making a starting template. boom! :)

Owned. I love that album... Nice observation, never really noticed that but now that i relisten to it with that in mind, you're totally spot on.
